Meath Coaching and Games have recruited a new Games Promotion Officer, Finn Hartford, for our region.
Finn will be starting in St. Andrews National School in Curraha next week on Tuesday 12th October.
Finn has a degree in Sports Management and will bring a lot of coaching & skills expertise to the club. He will be available to us for 6.5 hours per week. This will be comprised of 5 hours every Tuesday in the school and 1.5 hours directly with the club.
The 1.5 hours with the club will consist of skills assessments every few weeks to ensure kids are developing appropriately at each age level, helping coaches ensure sessions are well planned, warm-ups are sufficient and age-appropriate skills are being taught.
He will also be running coach education at each age level to help coaches run age-appropriate sessions and help coaches with any issues as regards coaching.
It will be great to have this support in place for both the Club and the School. It has been a positive few months for the club with regards to putting development plans in place. Finn’s appointment is the perfect addition to the Young Player Pathway introduced earlier this year, and the club’s acceptance into the upcoming LGFA 2021/2022 Club 2Gether Programme
