Curraha 3-11 St. Vincents 1-20
Curraha made the short journey to Ardcath for their second game in the Premier Championship. The two sides produced a close and hard-fought battle, that was in the balance right until the final whistle.
There was very little between the sides in the opening quarter with the lead changing hands a few times. Matthew Brennan in the Curraha goal had produced a fine save from a Vincent's penalty to leave only a point in at the water break. Curraha found the back of the net following a fine team move, finished off by Ruairí O'Sullivan. Vincent's had a very strong spell after the water break, and outscored Curraha in this period to give them a 6 point lead at half time, with a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-05.
Vincents continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the second half and pushed their lead out to 9 points at one stage. However, a determined Curraha team continued to work hard and began to work their way back into the game. Goals from Padraic O'Hanrahan and Andy Battersby brought it back to a one score game, but despite a couple of late goalmouth scrambles, Curraha weren't quite able to find the goal that would have levelled the game.
