Curraha got their league campaign underway in Ashbourne on a wet and blustery Thursday evening in Ashbourne.
The hosts had a strong wind behind them in the first half, and had the majority of the possession but some wayward shooting allowed Curraha to stay in contention. A converted free from Ronan Flynn and a long range effort into the breeze from Neil Shortall accounted for Curraha's 1st half tally, leaving them trailing by 3 at the break.
Despite the wind dying down somewhat at the start of the 2nd half, Currraha began to work their way back into the game, with points from Ruairi O'Sullivan, 2 more from Flynn and an excellent long-range left footed strike from Brian Joyce. however, a goal for the hosts in the 15th minute allowed them to regain control of the game and pull away in the last quarter of the game. Substitute Jared Roche added a further score for Curraha, with Flynn and O'Sullivan also registering further scores as the game drew to a close.
